Building & Construction Industry Training Fund Tuition Funding Site

bcitf_site_mainSM2 worked closely with BCITF to create on-line applications to deliver funding programs for Employers, Training Organisations and Apprentices -  enabling efficiency and productivity gains.

The Building and Constructon Industry Training Fund (BCITF), administers the Queensland industry's training levy and manages and provides training funds available for building and construction employers, existing workers, apprentices and trainees and registered training organisations.

The level of funds managed by BCITF has grown significantly and there existed a strong need to better deliver the range of funding programs across the state, to streamline business processes and to maximise outcomes with existing personnel. Together with BCITF, SM2 undertook ebusiness consultancy to define a cost effective strategy to harness the power of the web to meet their internal and stakeholders requirements.

SM2 re-engineered the work flow processes for web delivery and designed and build a number of web applications that would save time, money and resources for BCITF. Application development (programmed in ASPX and MSSQL) has included web based delivery and management of:

  • Tuition Fees Reimbursement - enabling Apprentices and Employer's of Apprentices to claim reimbursement of training fees incurred during their apprenticeship.  The application has a series of checking mechanisms to ensure legitimacy of claims and is tightly integrated with the BCITF off-line MS SQL database buiness management application.
  • Employer Subsidy Management for New Workers - enabling Employers and Group Training Organisations to apply for and manage funding subsidies for new workers entering the building and construction industry.
  • RTO Funding Program for Existing Workers - enabling Registered Training organisations to apply for and manage Assessement funding and Gap Training funding for existing workers within the building and construction industry.

The web applications enable cross Funding program integration to provide a seamless experience for industry employers, apprentices and training organisations and central management for BCITF. The client has been very happy with the new opportunities and capabilities possible with the web applications and we continue to work collaboratively with BCITF to further align the use of technology to achieve their business goals.
