SM2's latest client is "A Place to Belong" who are Building Communities in Mental Health. A Place to Belong is small, grass roots agency that aims to encourage inclusion for people who experience mental health challenges and intellectual disability. They achieve this through:
  • Linking isolated people with others or assisting them to find valued roles in society
  • Facilitating individual support for a small number of people
  • Assisting with literacy
  • Training and supporting carers, allies and workers from other organizations
  • Other activities like art classes, story sharing workshops and community awareness raising activities

Their mission is to encourage the building of a society where the acknowledgement of our common brokenness and the treasuring of our uniqueness are accepted as being fundamental to each person’s wholeness.

They contacted SM2 to assist them to utilise the web to spread their message and inform sufferer's and their families about mental health and intellectual disability.

The purpose for redesign of the site was primarily to be a window into A Place to Belong and the work they do and make information about A Place to Belong and our work more accessible than it currently is as the old site is outdated and ineffective to manage.

The new site by SM2 will also ensure that people who are looking for information about community inclusion can find it on the website easily and to provide access to information about mental health and recovery and links and resources to other mental health organizations and community groups.

A Place to Belong contacted SM2 after seeing their other community contributions to other non profits and approached SM2 to work with them on their project.

Keep an eye out for the new site!
